Did you know that in 2019 we filled Your packaging with 99 pounds of tea and kept 1,144 bags out of the landfill, because many of you put forth extra effort to bring in containers and waited while we filled them for you?

Effective 4/19/2023 – We welcome the return of the option for you to bring your containers in and we will fill them at a discounted “per oz” price. [aka “Loose in Brown Paper Bag” pricing shown on the website

Brown paper bag option is still available for in store and online ordering (pickup, delivery, shipping). Also, please remember: you can save and return to us any of our tea packaging (from trial size to the max size). We collect in a Terra-Cycle box and send it in to them for recycling.

HOW WE DO IT NOW:

For online ordering: When you select the price for “Loose in your container” we put your tea in paper bags (like brown lunch bags, fully compostable!) and you can then refill your own containers at home. We can accommodate up to 8oz of most teas this way. This also works for shipping orders! NOTE: we do not include any ingredient or steeping labels with this option. IF the tea you order is new for you, you might want to get the pre-packaged the first time, so you will have the details for your containers.

Clarification – if you want a large quantity in brown paper bag, but the prepacked price is cheaper, please select the cheaper price for you and tell us in the notes that you want it in paper bags. THANKS!

We still sell some tins, so if you see a new tea on the window menus – we can add tin(s) to your purchase and fill it directly.
