Our July 4th Matcha tasting was a huge hit, and it was overwhelmingly agreed that our new matchas from Hattori Farms, via Tealet are well worth the extra price.
“I finally found a matcha I like”
and, others said “I’ve never tried matcha because I didn’t realize how easy it is.”
As well as selling Hattori matchas in affordable quantities, we will continue to carry our current organic, premium grade matcha – great for lattes and cooking (though higher quality than common cooking grade). We served this one at Maplewood’s “Let Them Eat Art” festival on 7/8, and it was a great opportunity to turn more tea drinkers on to the flavor and health benefits of this green wonder [the First Green Drink].
We in the St. Louis area have been without a local prognosticator for too long. In the spirit of Punxsutawney Phil and Shubenacadie Sam, we are introducing Maplewood Molly.
Maplewood Molly agrees with her Eastern brothers, predicting an early spring.
To celebrate, and warm you through the remaining weeks of winter, we are offering Buy One/Get One specials in our shop this week only (Tues 10-6, Wed 11-6, Thursday 3-7, Friday 10-5).
Buy a cup of tea, get a 2nd cup of equal or lesser value FREE. Buy 1 or 2 oz of looseleaf tea, get additional 1-2 oz free (equal or lesser value). Limited to stock on hand.
My daughter is opening Range Free – an allergen-free bakeshop and cafe in downtown Columbia MO this Fall, and she will (of course) be serving our tea!
With a varied menu of tasty food, made from scratch with the highest quality ingredients, Range Free will appeal far beyond the “free from” crowd. Range Free will give people with and without allergies an opportunity to share meals together!
Once she is open, we will also be able to regularly bring in allergen free foods for you here in St. Louis, to pick up at our shop or at Markets. I will be able to share a menu of options soon. Please let me know what foods you are missing and would like us to share with you.
